Actually I remember Mike from elementary school and Jr. High more than high school.  Early in 5th grade, Cory Dangerfield, Mike, and I were asked by our teachers to paint a demonstration "mural" (bulletin board) during UEA. We went over to Hillside Jr. High on Friday (when everyone else was out of school enjoying their UEA break) and did our little project as elementary school teachers came by to watch. I really don't know how I got included in that group--Mike and Cory were certainly much more artistic than I!  Anyway, we met at Mike's house and his sweet, beautiful Swedish mother drove us over to the event. I now live across the street from the house where he lived, and whenever I visit my neighbor, I think of Mike and that UEA project! I also remember a very sad experience when I was working in the office at Churchill. A call came into the office that his dad had died and one of the counselors had to go and get him and his sister out of class. I felt so sad for them then, and sad now to learn that he has passed away.  He was quiet but very smart and always very well behaved!
