I was saddened to learn of Bob's passing.  I sat behind him in Mr. Gilbetr's math class in 10th grade, where Bob was always very quick, extremely smart, and  energetic.  Given that he was one or two years younger than the rest of us (started school in New Jersey and may have skipped a grade),  his intelligence was all the more intimidating.  It is sad to lose yet another classmate too soon!  My sympathy to his family and friends.
