Obituary for Douglas Alan Atwood

Douglas Alan "Doug" Atwood, 53 of Kersey, Colorado died on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at his home. He was born on March 25, 1955 in Greeley, Colorado to Alan E. and Lillian Gay (Herbst) Atwood. Doug graduated from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1973. He later married Sue Wahlberg on June 11, 1988 in Salt Lake City. They later moved to Kersey in 1995. Mr. Atwood worked for Weld County in their maintenance department for 12 years. He loved spending time at their cabin in the mountains, martial arts, riding his Harley and watching sports. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Sue Atwood of Kersey; his 5 children, Timothy, Dustin, Will, Nick, Candace. his granddaughter, Keandra: his father, Alan Atwood and his wife Linda and many other special friends and family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Atwood and his grandparents, Reuben and Ruth Herbst. All are invited to a memorial gathering of family and friends on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at 218 3rd Street in Kersey at his grandparents home where he was happiest.
