Susan Coon Repp
March 29, 1955 – March 18, 2025
Susan was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Lester and Marybell Coon, the middle of three girls. She spent her childhood and early adulthood in Salt Lake where her sons Jason and Brad were born.
Later she moved to Las Vegas where she married Joseph Anthony Repp. They met at George Repp’s wedding and married soon thereafter. Sue and George, Joe’s brother, were co-workers at a casino. After Sue’s sons left home, Sue and Joe moved to Monterey, IN where Joe grew up, returning to his family home. Sue became close to Joe’s daughter Brandy and her family during the time they lived there with Sue and Joe.
Sue graduated from Ancilla College in psychology. She worked many years as an executive assistant for Marshall-Starke Development Center, a non-profit providing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her love for this work no doubt derived from her love for her sister Cynthia and her father’s work in special education. Sue also provided care for her husband for over 15 yrs following his stroke and before his passing, during which time Joe joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Joe and Sue were later sealed in the Chicago temple.
Throughout the years, Sue loved doing handwork, particularly crocheting and pieced quilting. She shared many treasured gifts with her loved ones. She also derived much pleasure from playing and sharing music, whether piano, violin, or organ.
After Joe’s passing, Sue returned to Salt Lake City and her childhood home to live with her sister Nancy. She passed at St Joseph Villa following a long illness. She is predeceased by her husbands Winston Dempsey Burns and Joseph Anthony Repp, her parents Lester and Marybell Coon, and her sister Cynthia Coon.
