LEE SODERBORG OBITUARY

Alvin Lee Soderborg returned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from heart failure, leaving behind a host of loving family and friends.

Lee was born April 7, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the fifth son of Alvin Charles and Afton Romney Soderborg. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1973, and then served the Lord in the Toronto, Canada Mission for two years. On October 18, 1980, Lee married the love of his life, Karen Kay Durham. They were blessed with six children; three boys, three girls, and all the boys were twins. Their children are Pamela, Alex, Brian, Olivia, Connie, and Cody.

Lee was self-employed for many years, fixing and selling appliances. In addition, he had a 30-year career fixing ice cream machines for Taylor Freezer. He also served in many different capacities as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite callings were home teacher and scout master. (You, too, can call him master). Lee loved to serve. If someone was moving, he was always there to help load the truck. When someone was sick, he arrived with a can of chicken soup. You could find him digging trenches, laying sod, or fixing appliances for friends in need. In 2009, Lee shaved his beard for the first time in 27 years to serve the Lord in the temple.

Lee is preceded in death by his son, Alex Soderborg, and his sister, Laurel Cundick. He is survived by his wife, Karen Soderborg, his siblings, Kathy (Martin) Vander Veur, Lynne (Ken) Dawson, (Robb Cundick), Mark (Paula) Soderborg, Gayle (Dan) Roberts, and Eric Soderborg. He is also survived by his children, Pamela Willis, Brian (Lara) Soderborg, Olivia (Russ) Kirkham, Connie Soderborg, and Cody Soderborg. In addition, ten loving grandchildren called him Grand-Daddie Dearest.
